BabyBallot

Privacy Policy · Effective August 1, 2026

The short version: BabyBallot does not collect, track, or sell your personal information. There are no accounts and no ads. Everything you do in the app stays on your device, unless you choose to connect with a co‑parent — and even then, only the baby names you like are shared, never anything that identifies you.

1. Who we are

BabyBallot ("the app", "we", "us") is an offline baby‑name picker for two co‑parents. This policy explains what data the app does and does not handle. Questions? Contact us at support@babyballot.app.

2. Information we collect

None. BabyBallot has no user accounts and no login. We do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, contacts, location, device identifiers, or any other personal information. We do not use analytics, advertising, tracking pixels, or third‑party data‑collection SDKs.

3. Information stored on your device

The app saves your activity locally on your phone so you can pause and resume — for example:

This information lives in the app's on‑device storage and is removed when you delete the app from your phone. The only exception is the final round of name combinations, which is exchanged with your co‑parent's device as described in section 4 — your first‑name and middle‑name choices never leave your phone.

4. Connecting with a co‑parent

BabyBallot lets two people compare name choices. When you connect with a co‑parent using a shared code (for example, by scanning a QR code), the two devices exchange only the list of baby names each person liked, so the app can show the names you both chose.

Here's exactly how it works: each device briefly uploads its own liked‑name list to our server, tagged only with a random pairing code generated on your device — never your name, email, or any account. The other device retrieves that list to compute your shared matches, and the temporary copy is deleted automatically (within 48 hours) or as soon as either of you starts a new round. This data is never linked to your identity and is not used for anything besides showing you your matches.

5. Children's privacy

BabyBallot is intended for expectant and prospective parents. It is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13.

6. Third‑party services

The app itself contains no third‑party data‑collection services. It is distributed through Apple's App Store, and purchases are processed by Apple; Apple may process limited information (such as your Apple Account and basic device, purchase or usage data) under Apple's Privacy Policy. That processing is governed by Apple, not by us. We never see or store your payment details.

7. Data retention and deletion

Because your activity is stored on your device, you are in control of it: deleting the app removes it. Any temporary session used to connect with a co‑parent expires on its own.

8. Changes to this policy

If we add features that change how data is handled (for example, the co‑parent connection service), we will update this page and revise the effective date above.
